SPIRIT OF THE GLASS 2: THE HAUNTED Movie Review
Manila, Philippines - Benefiting substantially from a well-timed Halloween release date, "Spirit of the Glass:The Haunted" looks like a sure bet to be a Halloween hit.
I was able to watched it during its Celebrity Premier Night which happened last October 26 at Cinema 12 of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. This star studded event attended by the whole cast and prodcution staff led by Christine Reyes, Benjamin Alves, Ashley Ortega, Terry Malvar, Janine Gutierrez, Arron Villaflor, Enrico Cuenca, Maxine Medina, and Daniel Matsunaga under the direction of Direk Jose Javier Reyes, who directed the original movie way back 2004.
Just like the usual Ouija Board story, we have group of friends who played the ouija board, originally owned by Christine's grandfather, nakagambala sila ng spirit and they promise to help them. Dito na magsisimula ang katatakutan.
Deliciously creepy, thanks largely to a terrific performance by its young stars - Janine and Arron give an effective performance in this movie. In terms of acting performances, mas nag shine sa movie sila Arron at Janine who played a very important role sa movie. Big break ito for Janine, shes not just a pretty face pero mahusay umarte. Not so sa part ng barkada in terms of acting, but i would like to commend the performance of Maxine, Enrico, and Ashley, as a newbie, hindi halata na bagong artista sila. Very natural ang acting. For Daniel, habang tumatagal mas humuhusay ang pag arte nya however medyo nadistract ako sa voice nya the way he delivered his tagalog, something he needs to improve pa. For Christine, there is no major scene na nagmarka pero consistent ang acting nya.
The movie has a superior story-telling, maganda ang istorya, hindi ka maboboring, sakto ang phasing. Deliciously creepy, thanks largely to a terrific performance by its young stars. Gusto ko yun flashback when they are revealing yun struggle ng mga characters. May mga eksena na nakakatakot pero hindi masyado nakakagulat since hindi naman talaga sya suspense thriller na may patayan. This is a real treat for horror lovers.
Produced by OctoArts Films in association with T-Rex Entertainment. "Spirit of the Glass:The Haunted" will be shown on November 1 in cinemas nationwide.
