MANILA, Philippines — Excitement for Puregold’s OPM Con Generations reached new heights on June 12 as thousands of music fans flocked to participating Puregold stores nationwide for the opening day of ticket selling.
Set to take place on July 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, OPM Con Generations continues to establish itself as one of the country’s most anticipated music events. Now in its third year, the concert will bring together some of the biggest names in Filipino music, including SB19, Ben&Ben, Alamat, Flow G, Skusta Clee, Sunkissed Lola, G22, KAIA, and Xonara, showcasing the diverse sounds and talents that define today’s OPM landscape.
Participating Puregold branches included stores in Taytay, Rizal; Biñan, Laguna; Anabu-Imus, Cavite; Valenzuela; QI Central, Cubao, and Fairview Terraces in Quezon City; Tayuman and Kalentong in Manila; Parañaque; Cainta, Rizal; and San Pedro, Laguna.
Among the first customers to secure a ticket was Beverly Jane, an avid A’TIN who camped out at Puregold QI Central with fellow fans the night before ticket selling officially began.
“Super excited na for the concert kasi pinila talaga namin ito. Nandito na kami since 7 last night,” she shared. Despite the long wait, Beverly noted that attendees were well taken care of, with food, drinks, and a comfortable waiting area provided for those in line.
Expressing her gratitude for Puregold’s support of local music, she added, “Thank you so much sa Puregold dahil malaking platform ito para sa OPM at sobrang supportive nito hindi lang sa SB19 kundi sa buong P-pop community.”
The opening day turnout highlighted the broad appeal of OPM Con Generations, drawing fans from different age groups and backgrounds who share a passion for Filipino music. Over the years, the concert has evolved into a platform that celebrates not only artists but also the communities and fandoms that support them.
Among those in attendance was 62-year-old SB19 fan Suzette Santiago, who proudly shared how supporting the P-pop phenomenon and attending events like OPM Con Generations keeps her youthful and inspired.
“Whenever I listen to their music, may message talaga, and that’s what draws me to them,” she said. “It’s so nice that Puregold is doing this because it’s really encouraging to see our OPM music and industry continue to rise. Hopefully tuloy-tuloy lang because I really enjoy going to these events.”
Another fan, Arnel Lamber, arrived the night before to secure his place in line. He expressed his appreciation for initiatives that give music lovers the opportunity to see their favorite performers live.
“Thankful ako sa Puregold kasi nakaka-experience kami ng ganito. Kahit puyat, okay lang kasi masaya naman,” he said.
Puregold also expressed its appreciation for the overwhelming response from customers.
“The response we’ve seen so far has been overwhelming,” said Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, Senior Marketing Manager of Puregold Price Club Inc. “It’s remarkable to see so many customers excited not only about the concert but also about being part of the experience through Puregold. We eagerly welcome even more concertgoers as ticket selling continues.”
