Rising singer-songwriter and Asia’s Pop Sweetheart Isha Ponti is opening a new chapter in her musical journey with the release of “LIKAS,” an album that reflects her most personal stories of love, heartbreak, dreams, and self-discovery.
Months in the making, the album took nearly four months to complete and serves as a testament to Isha’s growth as both an artist and a storyteller. Every track was written and composed by the young singer herself, showcasing a talent she has nurtured since childhood.
During the launch of LIKAS, Isha described the project as a mirror of her experiences and the lessons she has learned along the way.
“This album is different. It’s about my personal experiences concerning love, dreams, and heartaches. It’s my story,” she shared. “These are experiences that I believe can resonate with many people.”
The album title carries a special meaning, serving as an acronym for Longing, Illusion, Kindness, Acceptance, and Self-love—the themes that define both the record and her journey as an artist.
Among the tracks, Isha considers “Bakas” the album’s most emotional piece. The song draws from her own experiences with heartbreak, a chapter in her life that ultimately became a source of creative inspiration.
The singer recalled a time when she thought she had found the answer to her prayers, only to realize that what seemed like true love was not meant to be.
“At that time, I thought that was the Lord’s answer to my longing. But eventually, it turned out not to be. It was just an illusion. It wasn’t true love, and I got hurt,” she shared.
Rather than letting the pain define her, Isha transformed those emotions into music. She also has a heartfelt message for anyone going through a similar experience.
“Always save something for yourself. Give your whole heart only to the right person,” she advised.
Songwriting has long been a part of Isha’s life. She revealed that she began writing songs at just seven years old, creating her first composition titled “Invincible.” That early passion eventually evolved into the artistry showcased in LIKAS today.
Beyond songs about love and longing, the album also highlights the importance of family. One of its standout tracks, “Warmth,” is dedicated to her parents, particularly her mother, who has been a constant source of support throughout her career.
The song carries a reassuring message: “It’s okay, I got this.”
The album features ten tracks: “Darating,” “Numero,” “Hinga,” “Kabanata,” “Halika,” “Warmth,” “Gulong,” “Bakas,” “Riversky,” and “Mismo.” Meanwhile, “Kabanata” is already available on Spotify and other major streaming platforms worldwide.
Produced with the help of acclaimed musical director and producer Adonis Tabanda, LIKAS highlights Isha’s strengths as a songwriter capable of turning deeply personal experiences into relatable stories.
Looking ahead, the young artist hopes to collaborate with some of the biggest names in OPM, including Sarah Geronimo, Yeng Constantino, and Maki, artists she considers among her biggest inspirations.
To celebrate the album’s release, Isha will headline a special launch event titled “Isha Ponti: LIKAS” on June 20, 2026, at Viva Cafe, where fans can expect live performances and surprise guests.
