In a world where danger hides behind screens, one click can change everything.
After the success of action-packed Kapuso series like “Mga Batang Riles,” “Sanggang-Dikit FR,” “Never Say Die,” and the recently premiered “The Master Cutter,” the GMA Network raises the stakes once again with its newest high-intensity action-drama series, “Taskforce Firewall.”
Premiering on May 25, the upcoming primetime series combines thrilling action sequences, emotional drama, and timely social relevance as it dives deep into the dangerous world of cybercrime.
Topbilled for the first time together are Kylie Padilla and Miguel Tanfelix, whose powerful pairing is already creating buzz among viewers eager to witness their chemistry onscreen.
Kylie takes on the role of Isa Cervantes, the disciplined and strategic heart of the Firewall team who lives under the shadow of her parents’ legacy. Meanwhile, Miguel portrays Galo Villareal, a former soldier haunted by personal trauma who is thrust into the dangerous world of cybercrime investigations.
The series follows a group of highly skilled law enforcement agents brought together by fate and united by one mission — to protect innocent people from criminals using technology and the internet for sinister purposes. Armed with expertise in hacking, surveillance, finance, and digital forensics, the team fights against modern threats hidden behind computer screens.
Joining the powerhouse cast are Jak Roberto as Hex Silverio, a brilliant hacker and survivor who uses his intelligence to solve crimes, and Kyline Alcantara as Callie Sandoval, the team’s sharp and sophisticated financial expert. Buboy Villar also stars as Jhay-jhay Gonzaga, the Firewall team’s VFX and drone specialist.
Veteran stars add more depth and emotion to the gripping storyline, including Allen Dizon, Dominic Ochoa, and Glenda Garcia.
Also joining the series are Rodjun Cruz, Shayne Sava, Cheska Fausto, Anna Abad Santos, John Vic De Guzman, with special participation from Yasmien Kurdi, Mark Herras, and Lexi Gonzales.
Beyond its explosive action scenes, “Taskforce Firewall” also aims to raise awareness about the growing threats of cybercrime in today’s digital age — from online scams and hacking to identity theft and digital manipulation.
During the media conference, Kylie and Miguel revealed one of the most intense moments they experienced while preparing for the series: rappelling down the 17th floor of the GMA Network building as part of their stunt training.
According to Kylie, the dangerous stunt was performed without doubles and took four takes to perfect.
“This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Kylie shared, adding that the stunt became an unforgettable bonding moment for her and Miguel as partners in the series.
The actress also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to experience physically demanding action scenes that pushed her beyond her comfort zone.
Directed by Rico Gutierrez with Associate Director Mark Kevin De Vela, the series is backed by the creative minds behind some of GMA’s biggest hits, including Creative Director Aloy Adlawan and Creative Head Des Garbes-Severino.
“Taskforce Firewall” premieres May 25, airing Mondays to Fridays at 8:55 PM after “The Master Cutter” on GMA Prime. Viewers can also stream the series via Kapuso Stream, GMA Play, GTV, and GMA Pinoy TV for global audiences.
With adrenaline-pumping action, timely storytelling, and a star-studded cast, “Taskforce Firewall” is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and socially relevant action series of the year.
