Valentine’s Day comes early this January—and if you’re ready to fall in love all over again, A Werewolf Boy might just be the film for you.

In all fairness, this movie is surprisingly good. I haven’t seen the Korean version, so I went in with a fresh perspective—and I’m glad I did. The story is well-crafted, the pacing is smooth, and there are absolutely no dull moments. Hindi ako inantok kahit isang segundo, which says a lot. The cinematography is visually pleasing, and the way the story is stitched together through its editing feels clean and effective.

What really makes the film work is how it makes you feel. It gently pulls you in and, before you know it, you’re falling in love with the story and the characters. Honestly, I had no expectations going in since I wasn’t familiar with lead stars Ravin and Angela—but they delivered. Mahusay silang dalawa. For newcomers, especially with performances that rely heavily on emotion rather than dialogue, they were effective, convincing, and sincere. Ramdam mo ang mga karakter nila.

Bonus na lang sana kung may shirtless transformation scene si “Good Boy”—baka lang naman makatulong sa appeal ng pelikula lol!

The supporting cast also deserves praise. Candy brings in natural humor, Albie effectively plays a character you’ll love to hate, and Ms Lorna Tolentino delivers an emotional moment that might just make you tear up. Walang OA—everyone fits their role perfectly, making the casting feel solid and balanced.

Overall, A Werewolf Boy is an interesting, heartfelt film that keeps you engaged from start to finish. It’s the kind of movie you won’t mind watching again—and honestly, one that reminds you why falling in love, even through film, still feels magical.
