After capturing hearts inside the Pinoy Big Brother house, rising star Dustin Yu continues to make waves in showbiz — this time, in the most horrifying movie event of the year, Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025.
The film, produced by the iconic Regal Entertainment, features a powerhouse cast led by Richard Gutierrez and Ivana Alawi, marking a thrilling reunion for Dustin and Ivana after their unforgettable PBB stint together. “Masaya kaming magkita ulit,” Dustin shared during the press conference. “Nagkamustahan lang kami, walang ilangan — parang dati lang sa bahay ni Kuya.”
From Reality TV to the Big Screen
Dustin admits that everything still feels surreal. “Unti-unti pa lang nagsi-sink in lahat ng blessings na dumarating,” he said. Since leaving the PBB house, he has bagged multiple endorsements, landed a new TV series, and is now starring in not one, but two major film festival entries this Christmas — with SRR: Evil Origins being one of his biggest projects yet.
“Ang PBB talaga ang biggest break ko,” Dustin humbly shared. “I’m just so grateful sa mga oportunidad na binibigay sa akin ngayon.”
During the movie’s press conference, Ms. Roselle Monteverde of Regal Entertainment was also present to show her full support for Dustin. “Even before PBB, alaga na talaga siya ng Regal,” Monteverde revealed, emphasizing the studio’s long-standing trust in the young actor’s talent. Dustin expressed heartfelt thanks to the Regal family for continuously believing in him, saying, “Maraming salamat sa tiwalang binibigay ninyo sa akin. Sobrang laki ng pasasalamat ko.”
