Now, Philippines is starting to make a name in the game since India and Taiwan are mostly the winners of Poker Competitions in Asia in the past. Recently, Edwin "Hit D Heat" Dela Cruz coached by Dave Erquiaga of Masters Poker won 6 million in a Poker Tournament held in Taiwan.
According to Masters Poker Business Director Josh So, there are 3 basic principles underlie poker games: definite mind, strategy, and skill. Understanding these concepts illustrates how these games work and how people like "Hit D Heat" and other pro gamers of poker beat their competition.
Skilled poker players understand the sample spaces of the game and probabilities associated with each hand. Thus, estimating the odds of a particular hand will guide their choices. Adept players are interested not only in probabilities, but also in how much money they can theoretically win from a game or event.
Still, poker involves far more than simple mathematical properties according to the team. Poker use a great deal of social psychology to read their fellow players. The ability to decipher bodily cues, for instance, helps discern fellow players’ mental states and possibly gives a clue to the statistics of their hands. It is an art and a science; only the best players can synthesize the two to reap millions.
"Masters Poker will also build a website in the future and sponsor some athletes who can also compete in different poker competitions across the globe and represent the Philippines, we are also planning to expand our business by in the provinces and at the same time planning different means to give back to the community", according to Gio Palacios Head of Marketing.
