‘Exes Baggage’, the first movie offering of ABS-CBN Film’s new film outfit Black Sheep is making waves in the Box Office as it earned Php142,347,119.26 already in just five days!
This Angelica-Carlo starrer is an instant hit to moviegoers as it touches on many real-life topics and issues, led by two complex main characters – Pia and Nix. Dan Villegas created a plot that will make you think and make you feel!
Pia (Angelica Panganiban) and Nix (Carlo Aquino) cross their paths years after their breakup. The story unfolds by a flashback on how they met, then become friends, and eventually become a couple. The love story turns sour when their past issues, including their exes, come into the picture.
Exes Baggage is definitely not your typical rom-com, so don’t expect it to be like a Sarah-John Lloyd movie. It’s far from it which makes it unique as it defies the usual blockbuster formula.
Carlo is drop-dead gorgeous on this movie, but more than that, you will see the pain, conflict, and all kinds of emotions in his eyes with every scene.
Angelica perfectly captured the essence of Pia – it felt like you are watching Angelica and Carlo in real life as couple. The love scene was captured artistically by Direk Dan which is one of his trademark. The film is actually quite interesting because it kept me guessing until the end. I liked how it all play out until the last scene.
Overall, I would recommend this film. Grab a tissue and get ready to have your heartstrings tugged in this melodrama, replete with its elements of love and loss.
