The movie tells
the story of a young man (Joko) and woman (Zoey) who meet at a time of crisis
in both their lives, who agree to pretend to be lovers, and who end up
desperately in love just when the pretense is about to fail.
The film is something
one can relate about. It is funny for most parts and was carefully done with
taste. Joshua Garcia never fails to pull the comedic strings. His character as
a responsible son pretending to be a Gay assistant who later on fell in love
with his “Hater” is perfect for Joshua. I can’t think of any of our young actor
today who can give justice to the role.Sobrang dami kong tawa sa mga punchlines
nya as Gay. Though he is pretending to be Gay Man, they have lots of
nakakakilig na scenes with Zoey. Joshua already proved himself when it comes to
acting, wala na akong masasabi diyan BUT on this movie, I give it to Julia Barretto.
Julia gave the much-needed balance of maturity in this movie. She plays her role
with depth lalo na sa confrontation scene, she gave a brilliant performance much
needed in the story. This specific scene
garnered applause from the audience during the screening. She deserved it. The best acting I’ve ever seen with Julia.
Julia
and Joshua generate a palpable romantic chemistry on this movie. The combination
of the two will make you feel ecstatic. They played their role with sincerity
and depth. The exchange of lines was witty and solid. Kris Aquino (Sasha) role is definitely
much-needed in the story. Kris character gave a new dimension to the entire plot. Their roles have been well-built and weaved to come around together and make a solid reaction from the audience. Kris Aquino is still Kris Aquino, she is definitely
back through this film. She has a lot of heartwarming moments with her Dad
played by Ronaldo Valdez. This is is one of my favorite scene dahil nakakaiyak
when her Dad can’t remember her and he is telling Joko to take care of Sasha.
Nafeel ko yun longing ni Sasha and Kris did well on that scene. I'm now a fan of Director Giselle Andres, she is a good story teller. Congrats Direk!
Overall, “I Love You
Hater” is a beautiful story that is well written with love and tenderness giving
a romantic movie that is well worth the effort of watching. It reminds us what
real love and sacrifice is all about.
