The appeal of “So Connected” is
as old as Love and as new as social media app available nowadays. The story is
fresh and has a unique concept. All the ingredients of a possible social media
stories can be seen on this movie – from online dating, cyber bullying,
stalking, etc.
But it's not entirely about
that. It's more about people who are dealt bad cards in life and how they
struggle to find hope. It's about learning to celebrate life in spite of
enormous problems and setbacks. And I think all of us, at some point in our
lives, have gone through trying times, and will be able to relate to the theme
and characters of the movie.
Janella
was excellent as the broken Trisha. She perfectly captured the essence of the
character—her desperation, her longing to escape, and her playful personality.
Kakaibang Janella Salvador ang makikita natin dito not your typical maarte na brat
girl na madalas nyang role. Hindi ko nakita si Janella sa movie, she gives justice
to Trisha’s jologs character na very natural nagregister yun acting nya on
screen, hindi trying hard.
Jameson
is drop-dead gorgeous as usual, but more than that, you will see the pain,
conflict, and all kinds of emotions in his eyes with every scene. He is more
than just a handsome face on this movie, may lalimyun acting nya.Plus he has
this charm that will make you feel ‘kilig’ while watching him.
While
they are not loveteam, you will see that the chemistry between Janella and
Jameson is natural. Very refreshing team ang up. They presented something new
as actors from their rap scene na sobrang nakakaaliw to their romantic scene sa
rooftop na nakakakilig kahit walang lines. There are many
beautiful and poignant scenes between them that will be remembered for a long
time.
So
Connected is a feel-good movie. It takes your heart on a journey from darkness
to light, and will give you hope and make you appreciate the beauty of life.
Connect
to Trisha and Karter’s journey this May 23 in cinemas nationwide.
