Following the remarkable success of action-drama series such as Mga Batang Riles, Sanggang-Dikit FR, Never Say Die, and the recently premiered The Master Cutter, the GMA Network Entertainment Group officially launches its newest high-stakes action-drama series, Taskforce Firewall, airing beginning May 25.
Aiming to raise awareness and promote the prevention of rampant cybercrimes through compelling storytelling, “Taskforce Firewall” follows a group of individuals brought together by fate and united by a mission to become cyber protectors.
Leading the star-studded cast is Kapuso action-drama actress Kylie Padilla as Isa Cervantes, the disciplined strategist and heart of the Firewall team who lives under the shadow of her parents’ legacy. Joining her is Kapuso Ultimate Heartthrob Miguel Tanfelix as Galo Villareal, a former soldier driven by personal trauma and thrust into the dangerous world of cybercrime investigations.
Also joining the powerhouse ensemble are Jak Roberto as Hex Silverio, a survivor-turned-hacker whose intelligence becomes a key weapon in solving crimes, and Kyline Alcantara as Callie Sandoval, the team’s elegant yet sharp financial expert. Meanwhile, Buboy Villar takes on the role of Jhay-jhay Gonzaga, the Firewall team’s VFX specialist and drone expert.
Adding depth and emotional weight to the series are some of the industry’s most respected veteran actors. Allen Dizon portrays Hernan, a father hoping to reconcile with his daughter Isa, while Dominic Ochoa plays Franco, the director of PBI who pushes the Firewall team to reach their full potential. Glenda Garcia also joins the cast as Tita Glo, a nurturing yet practical guide within the PBI office.
Completing the cast are Rodjun Cruz, Shayne Sava, Cheska Fausto, Anna Abad Santos, and John Vic De Guzman, with special participation from Yasmien Kurdi, Mark Herras, and Lexi Gonzales.
The series is produced by the GMA Entertainment Group under Officer-in-Charge and Vice President for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, Senior Assistant Vice President for Drama Ali Nokom-Dedicatoria, and Executive Producer Mary Joy Lumboy-Pili.
Its creative team is led by Creative Director Aloy Adlawan, Creative Head Des Garbes-Severino, Creative Consultant RJ Nuevas, Head Writer Lobert De Jesus Villela, writers Reynaldo Roque Jr. and John Anthony Medilo Rodulfo, alongside brainstormers Abner Tulagan and Charrie Avendaño.
Directed by Rico Gutierrez with Associate Director Mark Kevin De Vela, “Taskforce Firewall” aims to be more than just an action-packed television series, but also a movement that promotes awareness, resilience, and justice in today’s digital age.
Catch Taskforce Firewall beginning May 25, airing Mondays to Fridays at 8:55 p.m. after The Master Cutter on GMA Prime, as well as via Kapuso Stream and GMA Play, with delayed telecast on GTV. Global Pinoys can also watch the series through GMA Pinoy TV.
