MANILA — A new family drama is set to bring heart and hope to evening television as TV5 rolls out “My Bespren Emman” in its primetime lineup starting April 27.

Topbilled by JM de Guzman and Shaina Magdayao, the series will air back-to-back with “Secret in Prague,” strengthening the network’s push to deliver compelling and meaningful nightly programming.

Ahead of its television debut, “My Bespren Emman” has already generated strong buzz following its advance screening at Gateway 2 Cinema 12, where members of the press, industry insiders, and invited guests praised the show’s emotional depth and cinematic storytelling.

A major highlight of the project is the television debut of OPM legend Ely Buendia, whose participation has sparked excitement among fans. He takes on the titular role of Emman, a character central to the story’s mystery and emotional core.

Directed by Derick Cabrido and Jerome Pobocan, the drama explores themes of faith, redemption, and friendship. It follows Mateo (de Guzman), a man caught in a life of vices, whose journey takes a transformative turn after crossing paths with Emman. Alongside him is Ruth (Magdayao), whose presence adds depth and emotional tension to the narrative.

Viewers during the screening also noted the natural chemistry between de Guzman and Magdayao, highlighting how their performances anchor the story.

Joining them in the series are Ai-Ai delas Alas, Sid Lucero, Mitch Valdez, Michael de Mesa, Kit Thompson, Donna Cariaga, TJ Valderama, Iven Lim, and more.

With its strong word-of-mouth and uplifting narrative, “My Bespren Emman” is poised to become a meaningful addition to TV5’s primetime block—offering viewers a story that resonates with hope, transformation, and second chances.
