After eight long years, the love story that made us cry, hope, and believe in second chances is back on the big screen. “100 Awit Para Kay Stella”, the much-anticipated sequel to the 2017 hit “100 Tula Para Kay Stella”, reunites Bela Padilla and JC Santos in another emotionally gripping chapter—this time with more music, more maturity, and more tears to shed.
The announcement was made during today’s media conference held at Viva Café, where Bela and JC looked back at the unforgettable journey that began eight years ago. Bela shared how fans still confront her over the film’s heartbreaking ending:
“Kahit sa gasolinahan tinatanong ako kung bakit ko sinaktan si JC,” she laughed, proving just how much the story of Fidel and Stella has resonated with audiences.
But the sequel almost didn’t happen with the original cast. Bela revealed that due to several unforeseen circumstances, she almost lost the role of Stella:
“Buti na lang nag-text ako, kundi ibang tao ang kaharap niyo ngayon,” she said with gratitude, thanking Viva Films for keeping her and JC as the leads.
The pair also confessed that they feel like each other’s lucky charm—a sentiment that adds a layer of real-life chemistry to their on-screen partnership.
A New Chapter with a New Beat
Still written and directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, “100 Awit Para Kay Stella” picks up on the love story of Fidel and Stella, this time told through songs instead of poems. As the title suggests, the film shifts from poetic confessions to musical emotions—adding depth and evolution to the beloved characters.
But this sequel isn’t just a nostalgic reunion. It brings in Gen Z heartthrob Kyle Echarri as Clyde, a charismatic and confident young man who becomes a major rival to Fidel in winning Stella’s heart.
“Kyle is the man Fidel wishes he could be,” Laxamana teased during the conference. “Aside from the reunion, gusto namin ng panibagong obstacle. Sino ba talaga ang kayang maging threat kay Didel?”
Kyle, meanwhile, admitted to feeling nervous yet excited to be part of a legacy film that has touched so many.
“I feel blessed to be here,” he shared, adding that he hopes his performance does justice to the impact of the original.
More Than Just a Love Story—It’s a Musical Experience
Aside from a deeply emotional narrative, “100 Awit Para Kay Stella” will feature original songs that breathe life into the characters’ innermost feelings. The soundtrack includes performances by Rob Deniel, Amiel Sol, Shanne Dandan, and Kyle Echarri himself—ensuring that every moment in the film will hit you right in the heart.
If the trailer is any indication—packed with tension, longing, and unresolved emotions—then audiences better prepare themselves. As fans have already said:
“Trailer pa lang, mapanakit na… paano pa kaya ‘yung buong pelikula?”
