Gateway Cinema 11 was filled with emotions, memories, and love on May 21, as the special screening of FANEY (The Fan) turned into an unforgettable tribute to the one and only Superstar of Philippine Cinema, Ms. Nora Aunor, on her birthday.
The evening was not just a film screening—it was a grand reunion of Noranians, celebrities, friends, and family who came together to honor the timeless legacy of Ate Guy. The event also served as a heartfelt offering from RS Francisco, the creative force behind Frontrow Philippines, and the movie’s executive producer. Backed by Frontrow International, Intele Builders, Noble Wolf, and AQ Films, FANEY is a cinematic gift to every Filipino whose life was touched by the artistry of Nora Aunor.
Even before the doors opened, Noranians from all generations had already gathered outside Gateway Cinema 11, proudly holding banners and wearing memorabilia as they prepared to witness a film that hits close to home. It was more than a screening — it was a celebration of an icon’s indelible impact.

Inside, the atmosphere was electric as press and media friends, film industry veterans, and celebrity colleagues of Ate Guy filled the theater. In attendance was Ian de Leon, Nora Aunor’s son, who led the family in this emotional homage. It was a rare moment of unity among fans, friends, and fellow artists who all hold the Superstar close to their hearts.
The Film: A Love Letter from a Fan

Written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Adolfo Borinaga Alix Jr., FANEY tells the story of Milagros (Laurice Guillen), an aging superfan who is devastated by the news of Nora Aunor’s death. Her desperation to pay her last respects clashes with the concern of her daughter Babette (Gina Alajar) and the curiosity of her granddaughter Beatrice (Althea Ablan), a KPop-obsessed Gen Z fan.
