The inaugural Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival recently concluded its awards night with a resounding success, showcasing remarkable Filipino talent in filmmaking. Held at the Gateway Cinema in Cubao, Quezon City, the event highlighted outstanding films that captivated audiences and garnered critical acclaim. 

 Among the standout winners of the festival were "Pushcart Tales" and "Under A Piaya Moon." Directed by Sigrid Bernardo, "Pushcart Tales" took center stage, depicting the compelling story of six individuals trapped inside a grocery store during a natural disaster. The film not only dominated the awards in the full-length feature category but also earned director Sigrid Bernardo the prestigious Best Director award, while actors Shamaine Buencamino and Carlos Siguion-Reyna received major acting accolades. 

 "Under A Piaya Moon," an Ilonggo gem, clinched the Best Full-Length Feature Film award, along with several technical awards including Best Editing, Cinematography, and Production Design. Joel Torre's stellar performance also earned him the Best Supporting Actor award. Both "Piaya" and "Pushcart" secured a total of six awards each, solidifying their place as cinematic triumphs. 

 In the short film category, "Last Shift" emerged victorious, winning the Best Short Film award and accolades for its lead actors Vince Macapobre and Jules Azuala. 

 The festival provided a platform for emerging and established filmmakers to showcase their creativity and storytelling prowess. Attendees were treated to a diverse selection of films that reflected the rich tapestry of Filipino culture and narratives. 

 All award-winning films, along with other notable entries, were screened at the Gateway Cineplex 18, offering audiences a chance to experience the magic of Philippine cinema. Ticket prices were set at an affordable rate of P300, with discounted rates available for PWDs, senior citizens, and students. Festival passes were also offered for avid film enthusiasts eager to indulge in a cinematic feast.

 The success of Puregold's Cinepanalo Film Festival underscores the company's commitment to supporting local talent and promoting Filipino cinema. Through generous grants and opportunities, Puregold continues to champion aspiring filmmakers and nurture their creative endeavors.
