Kawit's Historic Aguinaldo Shrine Transforms with Modern Christmas Magic

In a harmonious blend of past and present, Kawit's Aguinaldo Shrine and Freedom Park witnessed a dazzling transformation as modern Christmas lighting adorned this historical monument. The ceremonial unveiling took place on November 18, graced by the presence of Kawit Local Government Unit (LGU) led by
Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo.

On the day of the opening, Gessie K., Nef Medina, and Agsunta serenaded Kawiteños and visitors from nearby cities while gazing at the Christmas decorations prepared by the local government. 

The Aguinaldo Shrine, a symbol of our nation's rich history, embraced the holiday spirit with a contemporary twist. The blending of modern Christmas lighting techniques with the shrine's timeless architecture created a visual spectacle that captivated the community. The historical Aguinaldo Shrine shone brightly thanks to the 3D projection technology used by the LGU. 

The Kawit LGU also installed light decorations modeled after fireworks, which emits different lights at varying tempo. Also, for the first time, the LGU installed a light tunnel in front of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo's monument, captivating the attention of selfie fanatics. The lit-up Santa Claus and butterfly garden was a hit for kids and kids-at-heart alike. 

As Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo presided over the ceremony, the significance of celebrating Christmas at this historical site was not lost. The event served as a testament to the town's commitment to preserving its heritage while embracing the festive traditions of today. The lighting ceremony marked the beginning of a month-long celebration, filling the air with joy and the spirit of Christmas. Families, locals, and tourists alike gathered to witness the enchanting display, forging a sense of unity and shared appreciation for the town's cultural legacy. Starting December 1, visitors can enjoy the night-time Christmas lights from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM to accommodate Las Tiendas customers and devout Christians attending the traditional Simbang Gabi.
