The newest TV masterpiece of Direk Jerry Lopez Sineneng premiered last February 28 on GMA Telebabad. The much anticipated drama series follows the mysterious death of Alexander Sagrado III, or AS3 (Ryan Eigenmann). His demise leads to the undercover investigation of a former hotel employee named Elaine Innocencio (Pauline Mendoza) as she believes that her fiancé, Frank Querubin (EA Guzman), was wrongly accused of the crime.
To prove to herself her fiancé's innocence and find the real suspect behind the mystery, Elaine applies as an assistant at the Sagrado Foundation, where she meets three women in Xander's life: his grieving wife, Jackie Antonio-Sagrado (Ashley Ortega), Hillary Suarez (Vaness del Moral), Jackie's friend and business colleague, and his older sister, Barbara Sagrado-Dee (Carmina Villarroel).
As a viewer, you just don't know whom to trust among the characters. It is as if you are unwittingly being drawn into their world that is shaped by deceit and, eventually, paranoia.
As we always say, one or two episodes are not enough to gauge the overall quality of a program. Although it can provide viewers a glimpse of its potential, the same way the opening minutes sometimes determine the kind of tempo a ballgame will be played. The series can keep viewers glued to their TV sets, eagerly following every episode like a detective pursuing a criminal case.
Joining the cast of Widows' Web are Adrian Alandy, Christian Vasquez, Allan Paule, Tanya Gomez, Arthur Solinap, Karenina Haniel, Mosang, Dave Bornea, Mike Agassi, Neil Coleta, and Josh Morales. The show also introduces young Kapuso stars Anjay Anson and Vanessa Peña.
Catch ‘Widows’ Web’ weeknights 8:50PM on GMA Telebabad after "First Lady".
