Manila, Philippines – Daniel Padilla finally received his first acting award after he was named as the Best Actor for the movie Barcelona in the recently concluded PMPC Star Awards for Movies last Sunday September 3, held at the Newport Performing Arts, Resorts World Manila.
The young actor together with on-screen partner
Kathryn Bernardo also won the Love Team of the Year Award bested other nominees
like Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards (Imagine You And Me),
Nadine Lustre and James Reid (This Time), Julia
Barretto and Ronnie Alonte (Vince And Kath And James),
Julia and Joshua Garcia (Vince And Kath And James),
Jodi Sta. Maria and Ian Veneracion (Achy Breaky Heart),
as well as Jodi and Richard Yap (Achy Breaky Heart).
Daniel thanked his family, followers, her mother Actress Karla
Estrada for mentoring him, his ABS CBN Family and his “sparring partner”
Kathryn Bernardo for giving him confidence and support to be at his best in every project he's doing.
Other Big Winners that night are the Philippine Showbiz Icons Ms
Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos who both won the Best Actress Award and also received
this year's Ginintuang Bituin sa Pelikulang Pilipino Award. After decades of rivalries,
their fans are still here to support them. Walang patid na hiyawan sa loob ng
resorts world parang nasa rally ang mga Vilmanians at Noranians. I’m so happy
to witnessed this rare experience of seeing two of Philippine’s finest in the
movie and tv industry.
Ate Guy won for Kabisera while Ate Vi for Everything About Her.
Die Beautiful won the Movie of the Year. They also won other major trophies like Director of the Year. Screenwriter of the year, Cinematographer
of the year, and Editor of the Year. While for Indie Film Category, Pamilya
Ordinario was named Indie Movie of the Year.
