Manila, Philippines — The cast of TBA Studios’ historical biopic Quezon brought the film to life for weekend mallgoers at the SM Mall of Asia Complex on Sunday, September 14, with a series of activities that gave a taste of what to expect from the movie when it hits Philippine cinemas on October 15.
The day’s events kicked off with an unannounced appearance at IKEA Philippines. Dressed in full costume, the cast of Quezon captivated shoppers with a dramatic performance that showcased their roles in the film. Led by Jericho Rosales as Manuel L. Quezon and Mon Confiado as Emilio Aguinaldo, the stars surprised passersby by interacting with each other in character, bringing history to life in a bustling modern setting.
Joining Rosales and Confiado were Benjamin Alves, Karylle, Arron Villaflor, Cris Villanueva, Therese Malvar, Angeli Bayani, Jake Macapagal, Ketchup Eusebio, Jun Nayra, and Bodjie Pascua.
The group then proceeded to engage with mallgoers via a campaign-style parade—complete with banners and a marching band—to the SM Mall of Asia outdoor activity center, where the cast held a theatrical Miting de Avance. Staying in character throughout, Rosales as Quezon and Confiado as Aguinaldo delivered stirring messages on leadership and patriotism while rallying the crowd to watch TBA Studios’ Quezon in cinemas.
After the Miting de Avance, the Quezon stars graced a special forum for business partners and corporate leaders at the IMAX Event Cinema in SM Mall of Asia. Members of the cast and production team were joined by a historian for a lively discussion on the life and legacy of Manuel L. Quezon.
Capping off the day’s activities, the Quezon team visited the Manila International Book Fair at the SMX Convention Center for the official launch of Quezon: The Story Behind the Film. Rosales and Karylle were joined by co-screenwriter Rody Vera, cinematographer Pong Ignacio, and producer Daphne O. Chiu-Soon for a special meet-and-greet and book signing. Published by Anvil Publishing, the companion guide offers deeper insight into the making of the film and will soon be available in bookstores and online.

Quezon is the third installment in TBA Studios’ celebrated Bayaniverse trilogy and will be released exclusively in cinemas nationwide on October 15, 2025.
