The Epitome of Beauty and Brains
Valerie is more than just a beautiful face. A graduate of Biomedical Engineering from the University of Delaware, she is a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in New York, and dreams of becoming a doctor one day. But for now, her focus is crystal clear — to bring home the Miss Universe Philippines crown.
In the recently concluded Swimsuit Competition held at Aqua Boracay, Valerie absolutely wowed the crowd and the judges with her graceful pasarela, toned physique, and undeniable confidence. Her performance was so captivating, she secured a spot in the prestigious Top 8 Aqua Angels, proving she’s a force to be reckoned with on the stage.
When asked about her experience, Valerie shared,
“It’s time to show what you’ve got! At first, it was intimidating but they made it feel like a dance party before we hit the runway. It was such a fun experience, and Aqua Boracay was so nice to the candidates!”
It’s also worth noting that Valerie lost 40 pounds during her preparation for the pageant through hard work, lifestyle change, and a disciplined diet — a testament to her commitment and dedication to this journey.
A Bubbly Queen with a Big Heart
Despite her fierce performance, Valerie is known among the candidates as one of the most bubbly and friendly. She’s gained many close friends during the competition and often shares sweet moments with Miss Liliw Laguna and Miss Pasay. “We empower each other,” she says. “No competition drama, just sisterhood and support.”
Valerie is also driven by her heart for others. Her advocacy, PUSO Foundation, provides medical missions and rescue operations during typhoons and disasters. It’s an extension of her medical background and genuine care for the Filipino people — a true queen with a cause.

One of Valerie’s strongest assets? Her confidence and intelligence during interviews. Ask any past winner’s Q&A question, and she’ll nail it — on point, articulate, and impactful. In her own words,
“Q&A is my strength. Just get me to that part and I’ll take it from there.”
She truly proves that once she lands a spot in the finals, she’s a strong contender for any of the crowns.
When asked what people can expect from her, she confidently said:
“You’ll see freshness from me. I think that’s my edge — people don’t know what I can bring to the table yet. I’ll just be myself, and what you see is what you get.”
